The Federal SS-595 tire is a great performance tire for your daily driver, but is also the tire of choice for drift racing thanks to its extreme wear resistance and durability. These tires will give you the performance you desire and the look and feel of the tire will keep you on the road through anything you throw at it. On the drift track or on the highway this tire gives you the maximum levels of adhesion, acceleration, cornering and braking. If you are looking for a tire to use for performance or just for daily driving, the Federal SS-595 tire is an excellent and affordable option.
This describes the sidewall appearance. Examples include Black Sidewall, White Sidewall, and White Letters.
The load index (LI) is a 2 or 3 digit number that corrolates to the maximum amount of weight the tire can carry. For example, a tire with a load index of 87 indicates that the tire can carry a maximim load of 1,201 lbs. In the case of our example the 87 identifies the tires ability to carry a maximum of 1,201 lbs. So 4 tires will carry a maximum of 4,804 lbs. Refer to your vehicle owner's manual for the recommended minimim Load Index. It is not recommended to install tires with a lower Load Index. By doing so, this could cause your tires to be overloaded thus potentially causing a blowout.
Speed Ratings (SR) are based on laboratory tests and indicates the maximum speed the tire can achieve. These tests are based on limited time trials. Higher speed rating tires typically will yield better handling capabilities, but may often result in lower mileage. Refer to your vehicle owner's manual for the recommended minimum Speed Rating. It is not recommended to install a tire with a lower speed rating as it could affect the handling of your vehicle. It is important to note that speed ratings only apply to tires that have not been damaged, altered, under-inflated or overloaded. Additionally, most tire manufacturers maintain that a tire that has been cut or punctured no longer retains the tire manufacturer's original speed rating, even after being repaired because the tire manufacturer can't control the quality of the repair.
|Ply Rating||Not Available||
Ply Rating is related to the max load capacity. This value can be defined with a letter or number. The higher the number/letter, the higher the load capacity.
To help consumers evaluate their tires, the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) created the Uniform Tire Quality Grading System (UTQG). The UTQG rates tires are rated on their tread-wear, traction performance, and temperature resistance. The grade for each of these can be found on the sidewall of your tire (except for winter tires and certain light truck tires). Click here for more information.
|Max Single Load(lbs)||992||The maximum load this tire will support. Remember to multiply this number by the number of tires installed on your vehicle to get the maximum carrying capacity. This number is directly related to the Load Index.|
|Max Single Air Pressure(PSI)||44||The maximum air pressure this tire will support. This does not represent the amount of air pressure your tires should have at all times. Consult with your owner's manual to determine the best air pressure you should use for your vehicle.|
|Tread Depth||9.0||The amount of tread on the tire. Once the tire is worn to 2/32nds, it is considered fully used and should be replaced at that time. Most tires will have tire indicators in the grooves of the tire to help you determine when the tires are worn down to 2/32nds.|
Nondirectional - most common, same tread pattern on inside & outside of the tire. Can be rotated to all four corners of vehicle. Asymmetrical - tread pattern is different on the inside to the outside of the tire, and must be mounted properly. Can be rotated to all four corners of the vehicle. Directional tires - roll in only one direction, must be mounted properly. Once mounted they must remain on the same side of the vehicle, and only be rotated front to rear.
|Rim Width Range||5.0-6.5||The approved wheel rim width range this tire will support.|
|Measured Rim Width||6.0||The recommended wheel width as recommended by the tire manufacturer to get the best wear us performance for this tire.|
|Section Width||7.3||The measurement from sidewall to sidewall.|
|Tread Width||6.5||The measurement from one side of the tread to the other side of the tread.|
|Overall Diameter||22.0||The height of the tire when fully inflated.|
|Manufacturer Part Number||148I4AFA||Manufacturer part number (sku)|
Great tires for the price
These are a great fit for my 96 Mustang GT.
I bought 2 tires and. They arrived right on time. Great business
These tires are awesome! They are sold at a very reasonable price, they are quiet on the road, fast or slow driving and most of all they look outstanding on my car. The tread is aggressive looking and handles the rain with no problem. It hits on all areas, price, look, traction and sound.
Order a set for my corvette(92) and rides like its brand new. I have about 2000 miles and they seem to be fine.
Purchased for my '74 Jensen-Healey. I had been frustrated by the quality of 13" tires currently available. These have the aggressive tread and performance I was looking for. Plus they look great on the car.
I put a pair of 245/45-18 tires on the front of my Pontiac G8 GT along with some 275/40-18 on the back and the tires are great. They were very reasonably priced. They look good, handle well, and have really good traction. All around great tire, I will be getting more.
Great tires, good service, and good price!!
I bought these tires for street/drifting and they are great ! Handle very well and so far after 5k miles, not much tread has been used.
Tires performing well. Great value!!
For the price you can't beat their performance. So far I don't see any wear or hear any noise. They work just as they should
Great tires !!!! I will buy again
The wide SS-595 is amazing on my 2 cars, Stealth AWD twin turbo, and '04 STI modified. I drive insane speeds on hairpin curved, switchback steep mountain roads. These tires hang like the cars are on rails. Real good, hot or cold, dry or rain. Occasional light snow, if I get caught out in the winter. I won't run them in bad snow.
I've had a set on my Miata for about 4 months now and they are awesome. The looks alone are great but, they stick to the road great as well. I would absolutely buy again.
Good price and fast shipment
Great dry traction, wet traction is decent for the type of tire this is and very minimal road noise. I only have about 500 miles on them so I can't comment on tread wear.
Price was great as well as ride ability.
Great tires for the price especially in drifting! I can go through an entire event with the same set of tires.
These tires look great (sporty) for half the price. Excellent wet traction and as far as I'm concerned they're not to noisy. Definitely will be buying another set when needed.
The Tire Fit On My Car , Holds Air , And Rolls . I Am Happy With It !
Great tire for the price. 85 corvette daily driver no reason for expensive tires
They give you excellent handling and not so sticky that you can't drift the car. They seem to hold when you want and let loose when you intend for them to do so. They are also predictable and handle well when drifting. I have them on an Evo X.
