Tire details

The New Federal Xplora MTS features:

  • V-Shaped groves to improve rigidity and protect against chips and cuts
  • Massive tread blocks to enhance traction and stability
  • Wide directional grooves that reduce hydroplaning
  • Linear shoulder blocks to improve steering control
  • Quiet, smooth ride
  • M+S rating
  • New Silica compound- not a UHP compound and not a M/T compound

The Federal Xplora MTS has the off-road look while still being able to stick to the pavement for increased traction, and long wear compared to a tire mud tire. The Explorea MTS  is perfect for the light truck enthusiast who is looking for enhanced style for their truck but does not venture off road. This would be a great choice if you have a lift kit, custom paint job or an aftermarket bumper on your truck, and you are looking for those unique tires to finish off the look.   The Federal Xplora MTS is a good choice for a Jeep Wrangler and Cherokee; Ford F-Series and Ranger; Chevrolet Silverado and Colorado; Toyota Tundra and Tacoma and the Nissan Frontier and Titan.

Awards Won

The Federal Xplora MTS received the Good Design Award for 2018 for industrial design. It also received an award from Red Dot, the international product design awarded by the design Zenturnm Nordrhein Westfalen in Essen, Germany.

The Federal Xplora MTS will be available in 20-inch, 22-inch and 24-inch rims by early Spring (March or April) 2019. Additional sizes from 17 inch to 26 inch are scheduled to be available by late Spring 2020.
