Interestingly, Pirelli’s name entered the rubber business long before the first automobile was created.  In 1872, Giovanni Battista<\/span> Pirelli<\/a> founded a company that produced various rubber items and rubber bands, eventually launching the first tire for the velocipedes (the name of the early, man-powered bicycle) in 1894.  This launch would be the first of many, leading to the global manufacturing of tires for vehicles, motorcycles, and bicycle markets.<\/span><\/p>\n
