The Hankook Winter I*Pike W409 is a studdable winter tire that is designed to optimize safety and security on ice, snow, slush and wet roads on all types of cars, trucks and SUVs. The wide square tire profile dramatically improves the amount of rubber in contact with the road surface for better handling. The tread is heavily siped with lots of grooves. The tread has a solid center rib that fans out in a chevron shape that helps to evacuate snow and water to prevent slipping and hydroplaning in adverse weather. Also, the sidewall is stiffer for immediate feedback and response to steering input by the driver which improves the handling on dry cold winter roads.
