The Nitto Exo Grappler AWT tire is an all-weather traction light truck tire engineered for safety and grip in all road conditions and on mixed all-terrains. With this tire, Nitto Tire has taken an innovative design approach since few light truck tires achieve a good balance of off-road traction, traction in snow, and grip on wet and dry roads. Nitto Tires achieves this balance through new all-weather tread compounds and tread design.
The tread and both sides of the upper sidewall of the tire have extra biting edges for more pulling power. The staggered tread block design is for off-road traction while reducing tire noise. A special blend of wear resistant materials, natural rubber, and high strength polymers helps with cut and chip resistance on unpaved gravel roads. The large lateral grooves push out water and snow and slush for better traction. The tread compound also stays pliable in freezing temperatures making this a true four season tire even in the north of the country and Canada were snow and cold temperatures are frequent. The Nitto EXO Grappler AWT tire has the Mountain Snowflake symbol on the sidewall and is pinned for #15 studs.
For durability and heavy duty use, the tire has extra thick sidewalls, massive upper shoulder sidewalls lugs and the all-new chip resistant all-weather compound. There is also a 3-ply sidewall construction under the extra rubber. Inside the tread grooves there are spiral shaped stone ejectors to resist stone drilling that can damage the casing. Like other Nitto tires, the Nitto Exo Grappler AWT tire has a dual sidewall design - one side has Y-shaped buttresses and the other side has a more prominent three-dimensional buttress for a more aggressive look.
