Uniroyal Tiger Paw Touring A/S

The Uniroyal Tiger Paw Touring A/S is a long-wearing all-season touring tire for sedans, coupes, minivans, and crossovers. It is the value pick for drivers who want a long warranty and confident wet weather performance without paying premium-brand money.

The warranty is unusually strong for the price: 75,000 miles on H-rated sizes and 65,000 miles on V-rated sizes, backed by a 45-day satisfaction guarantee. Uniroyal achieves this longevity through its proprietary Tru-Last Technology, which stress-relieves the contact patch to manage tire footprint pressure and promote exceptionally even tread wear. Mechanically, a symmetric tread pattern allows versatile rotation options across all four positions to maximize lifespan, while wide circumferential grooves and a zig-zag siping pattern work together to rapidly channel water out of the footprint and provide extra biting edges in cold rain and light snow. Wet braking and hydroplaning resistance are where owners consistently say it outperforms its price class.

If the brand is unfamiliar, it should not be. Uniroyal has been making tires since 1892 and has operated under Michelin ownership in North America since 1990, so the engineering, quality control, and manufacturing behind it are the same operation that builds Michelin and BFGoodrich. That is worth knowing when you are weighing a value brand against a premium one.

It is an all-season, not 3PMSF certified, so it handles cold weather and light snow but is not a substitute for a winter tire on ice or packed snow. And like any long-warranty tire, the mileage only materializes with maintenance: rotate every five to seven thousand miles, keep pressures at the door placard number, and check the alignment when the set goes on.

Best-suited for: Toyota Camry, Honda Accord, Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla, Nissan Altima, Chrysler Pacifica, Honda CR-V, Hyundai Elantra.
