Sumitomo HTR Z5 is an ultra-high-performance summer tire designed for sports cars, coupes, and performance sedans. HTR Z5 helps the driver get the best out of modern sports car and maximizes the daily driving experience, especially in wet-weather conditions. The tire’s continuous center rib adds stability and improves steering response, while the substantial shoulders improve lateral grip. Sumimoto’s notches in the intermediate and center ribs combine with the tread compound for traction in wet conditions, while four wide circumferential grooves help to evacuate water from the tread area for advanced hydroplaning resistance. HTR Z5’s increased shoulder and contact patch ensures even distribution of pressure to prevent irregular wear and improve handling performance. The internal construction consists of full-width nylon band that optimizes high-speed stability, and high-rigidity steel belts that offer greater durability and car stability. Hard apex strengthens sidewall for exceptional cornering stiffness.
