Goodyear Assurance MaxLife Tires

The Goodyear Assurance MaxLife is built around one promise, and it delivers on it: an 85,000-mile limited treadwear warranty, among the longest offered on any passenger tire sold in the US. It is a touring all-season for sedans and crossovers that cover high annual mileage.

Goodyear achieves that lifespan through its proprietary TredLife Technology, which pairs a highly wear-resistant compound with a tread design engineered to distribute pressure evenly across the contact patch. Mechanically, a continuous center rib provides a solid on-center feel and stable highway tracking, while wide circumferential grooves efficiently drain water to resist hydroplaning. It also features built-in wear gauges molded directly into the tread, allowing you to see how much life is left at a glance without measuring depth, which is genuinely useful on a tire you will own for years.

The internal construction is built to survive that mileage, featuring a single ply polyester casing for ride comfort, topped with twin steel belts reinforced by spirally wrapped nylon to maintain uniform shape and handling capabilities over tens of thousands of miles.

The reasonable question is whether anyone actually reaches 85,000 miles, and the answer is that plenty do, but only with maintenance. Rotate every five to seven thousand miles, keep pressures at the door placard number, and have the alignment checked when the tires go on. Skip those and you will get a normal tire's life out of a long-life tire.

The trade is straightforward. This is a mileage and comfort tire, so it is tuned for durability and a quiet ride rather than sporting response. It is not 3PMSF certified. In heavy winter conditions, a dedicated winter set is still the right call.

Best-suited for: Toyota Camry, Honda Accord, Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla, Chevrolet Malibu, Nissan Altima, Honda CR-V, Hyundai Elantra.
