Goodyear Eagle Touring Tires

The Goodyear Eagle Touring is a luxury grand touring all-season tire, developed largely for original equipment fitment on premium sedans, high-end crossovers, and full-size SUVs. It is the choice when ride refinement and cabin quiet matter as much as grip, and on many vehicles it is the tire the manufacturer specified from the factory.

Goodyear tuned this one specifically for cabin insulation. The asymmetric tread pattern and optimized pitch sequence suppress the road roar that large-diameter wheels and low-profile sidewalls tend to amplify. For select sizes—particularly those fitted to electric vehicles and top-tier luxury SUVs—Goodyear incorporates SoundComfort Technology, an integrated acoustic foam barrier inside the tire casing that directly dampens interior cabin resonance. Mechanically, lateral sipes work alongside wide circumferential grooves to clear water at speed and provide confident grip in light rain and slush. The compound and casing are calibrated to absorb impact harshness over expansion joints and broken pavement rather than transmit it to the cabin, all while maintaining sharp, precise steering response without a firm ride penalty.

Two things to plan for. Heavy vehicles, especially full-size luxury SUVs and EVs, wear any touring tire faster than a midsize sedan will, so rotate every five to seven thousand miles and check the alignment when the set goes on. And it is an all-season, not 3PMSF certified, so in severe winter conditions a dedicated winter set remains the correct call.
