Toyo Open Country M/T Tires

The Toyo Open Country M/T is a serious, legendary mud-terrain tire built for light trucks, Jeeps, and heavy-duty 4x4s that tackle real mud, rock crawling, and harsh trail environments. It is engineered with a heavy-duty architecture designed for maximum load capacity and severe impact resistance.

The foundation of its extreme off-road durability is a high-turn-up 3-ply polyester casing, which provides exceptional puncture resistance and sidewall strength when airing down to low pressures on technical trails. The aggressive tread utilizes hook-shaped tread blocks with deep internal siping to bite into loose ground and wet, slick rocks. Off-pavement, scalloped shoulder lugs and open voids continuously expel thick mud, gravel, and snow so the tread keeps biting rather than packing smooth. Offered predominantly in Load Range E (10-ply rated) and select Load Range F fitments, it supports heavy towing and bed payloads without carcass deflection. Dual sidewall designs allow enthusiasts to choose between a classic or aggressive aesthetic.

Be honest about category trade-offs: a true mud-terrain with tread depth this aggressive is loud on pavement and will increase fuel consumption. If your vehicle spends most of its life on asphalt with only occasional weekend trail use, a hybrid rugged-terrain (R/T) tire will offer far better highway manners.

To maximize tread life and keep noise manageable, request a road force balance rather than a standard spin balance, re-torque lug nuts after the first 50 to 100 miles, and rotate strictly every 5,000 miles to prevent shoulder block cupping and pattern roar.

Best-suited for: Jeep Wrangler, Jeep Gladiator, Ford F-250 and F-350, Chevrolet Silverado 2500/3500, Ram 2500/3500, Toyota Tacoma, Toyota Tundra, Ford Bronco.

Tire Best Features:

High-turn-up 3-ply polyester casing delivers maximum sidewall puncture and tear resistance.
Heavy-duty Load Range E and F ratings for high-payload commercial and towing builds.
Hook-shaped tread blocks with deep siping dig into mud, sand, and slick wet rocks.
Scalloped shoulder lugs and wide open voids promote rapid self-cleaning in deep mud.
Dual sidewall styling options to complement custom off-road builds.
