Kenda Klever R/T KR601 Product Description

This listing is for new Kenda Klever R/T KR601 LT255/80R17 E/10PLY BSW Tires. Manufacturer part number: 601042.

The Kenda Klever R/T KR601 is a rugged terrain tire for light trucks, Jeeps, and SUVs, recognized as one of the most consistently well-reviewed hybrid tires in its class. Positioned strategically between an all-terrain and a mud-terrain, it is engineered for vehicles that face demanding off-road environments while maintaining civil daily commuting capabilities.

The headline feature is Kenda's Triple Threat Sidewall, constructed with three full carcass plies (3-ply), aggressive upper sidewall lugs, and an integrated rim flange/bead protector that guards against cuts, impact punctures, and pinch flats when airing down on rocks. The tread utilizes a cut- and chip-resistant rubber compound molded into interlocking center blocks with high-density sipes for extreme stability during heavy towing and reliable cold-weather traction. Deep outer voids continuously flush thick mud, while integrated stone ejectors clear trapped gravel to defend the casing from stone drilling.

A unique feature that sets the Klever R/T apart from competitors is its stud capability. It is pre-drilled to accept TSMI #15 winter studs where legal, offering severe ice traction options rare for the rugged-terrain category.

Owner feedback is exceptionally positive regarding ride comfort and trail toughness. Because of its heavy-duty 3-ply casing and large tread blocks, some units require slightly more wheel weight to balance; requesting a road force balance rather than a standard spin balance resolves this completely. Rotate every five thousand miles to prevent shoulder cupping.

Best-suited for: Jeep Wrangler, Jeep Gladiator, Ford F-150 and F-250, Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and 2500, Ram 1500 and 2500, Toyota Tacoma, Toyota Tundra.
