American Road Star ST Semi Steel Tires
The American Road Star ST Semi Steel is a radial ST (Special Trailer) tire for utility trailers, boat trailers, campers and travel trailers. American Road Star is a brand focused on trailer and RV tires.
"Semi steel" describes the casing. In trailer tires, the term generally means steel belts under the tread over a fabric body, as opposed to an all-steel casing with a steel body ply. The fabric body keeps the tire lighter. The steel belts give the tread its strength against punctures and heat. The line runs from 13-inch utility trailer sizes in load range C and D up to 16-inch sizes in load range F (12-ply rating). The ST235/80R16 in load range E carries a 124/120 load index, 3,520 lbs per tire at 80 psi, with an N speed rating (87 mph) and 9/32 inch of tread.
For most utility, boat and travel trailers, a semi steel radial in the right load range is the right match. For heavy fifth wheels and equipment trailers that run near their maximum load, American Road Star also offers an ST All Steel line.
Best-suited for: Utility trailers, boat trailers, pop-up campers, travel trailers, landscape trailers and small car haulers.
