Nitto Ridge Grappler Product Description

This listing is for new Nitto Ridge Grappler 265/70R18 116S BSW Tires. Manufacturer part number: 217830.

The Nitto Ridge Grappler is a hybrid terrain tire, positioned deliberately between an all-terrain and a mud-terrain. It is for trucks and Jeeps that want the mud-terrain look and most of the capability, but still have to drive on pavement every day.

The tread pattern is the entire idea. Advanced computer-simulated variable pitch tread blocks and a tighter center section keep highway noise well below a true mud-terrain, while staggered shoulder lugs and wide voids handle mud, rock, and loose dirt. Deep in the grooves, integrated stone ejectors actively protect the casing from stone drilling on gravel roads. To maintain on-road stability, reinforced block foundation bridges (coupling joints) connect the tread blocks, adding rigidity to reduce tread flex and resist the chipping and tearing that heavy trail use causes. Additionally, dual sidewall designs let you choose the look for your build. It is one of the most requested tires in this category, and the reason is that it genuinely delivers the compromise it promises.

Noise is the question everyone asks, so here is the honest version: it is quieter than a mud-terrain and louder than an all-terrain, and it develops more hum as it wears, especially if rotations get skipped. Rotate every five thousand miles and keep the alignment in spec.

Two more things to know. It does not carry 3PMSF certification, so it is not rated for severe snow service. And these are heavy tires, particularly in flotation sizes, so have them road force balanced rather than spin balanced and expect a fuel economy penalty against a highway tire.

Best-suited for: Ford F-150, Ford F-250, Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and 2500, Ram 1500 and 2500, Jeep Wrangler, Jeep Gladiator, Toyota Tacoma, Toyota Tundra.

Tire Best Features:

  • Hybrid tread design successfully bridges all-terrain daily comfort with mud-terrain off-road traction.

  • Computer-simulated variable pitch blocks break up resonance to keep highway noise well below a true M/T.

  • Reinforced block foundation bridges reduce tread flex for on-road stability and resist chipping on gravel.

  • Integrated stone ejectors protect the internal casing from debris buildup and stone drilling.

  • Dual sidewall designs (traditional or aggressive) allow you to customize the look of your vehicle build.

  • Available in heavy-duty LT and flotation sizing specifically tailored for lifted trucks and SUVs.
