The Mickey Thompson Baja Boss A/T is a hybrid all-terrain, the tire Mickey Thompson built to bring mud-terrain attitude into a package that still behaves on the highway. It carries a 60,000-mile treadwear warranty on SUV/P-metric sizes and 50,000 miles on LT-metric sizes.

The construction is the primary differentiator. Mickey Thompson's heavy-duty PowerPly XD three-ply sidewall construction uses heavier denier cord to increase puncture resistance, sharpen steering response, and allow the tire to flex properly when aired down—with owners regularly running in the low twenties in psi on technical trails without issue. On the shoulders, Extreme Sidebiters® are engineered 150% deeper than previous generations for relentless lateral climbing traction and severe sidewall armor. The asymmetric tread design delivers surprisingly composed and quiet on-road handling, while the silica-reinforced compound (T1 for LT sizes, S1 for SUV fitments) enhances wet braking while aggressively resisting cuts and chips on harsh rock surfaces.

Two important details before ordering. The 3PMSF severe snow service rating applies specifically to sizes 12.50 inches (315 mm) wide and narrower; wider flotation sizes do not carry the winter crest. Additionally, this is a heavy tire, so have the set road force balanced rather than spin balanced, and expect a slight fuel economy penalty against a standard highway tire as the trade-off for extreme trail capability.
