The Trailer King RST is a specialty trailer radial, engineered for the one job a trailer tire actually has: carrying load at highway speed without building up heat. It is not a light truck tire and should never be mounted on a tow vehicle, no matter how close the size looks.

The construction reflects that job. A nylon overlay on most sizes holds the casing together at speed, and a shallow, even tread depth runs cooler than a deep-tread tire would. The ribbed pattern tracks straight behind the tow vehicle and resists the side scrub that chews up trailer tires in tight turns and campground maneuvering. The question every trailer owner really has is whether it will blow out, and the answer is mostly in your hands. Trailer tires almost never wear out. They fail from heat, from being run underinflated, and from age. Three things prevent that. Inflate to the maximum pressure molded on the sidewall before every trip, checked cold, not to the pressure you would run on a truck. Select a load range that covers your trailer loaded, with margin, not empty. And replace the set on age rather than tread depth, because a trailer that sits for months between trips is aging its tires the whole time. Also check the speed rating on your specific size and stay under it. A tire that looks perfect can still be five years old and unsafe.
