TransEagle ST Radial II Tires

The TransEagle ST Radial II is the second-generation ST radial from TransEagle, built for higher load ranges and sustained highway towing. It is a trailer-only tire and is not rated for use on any powered vehicle.

The upgrades over the first generation are aimed squarely at heat and load, which is where trailer tires actually fail. The internal construction features a steel-belted structure reinforced by a full nylon overlay. This crucial nylon cap prevents the tire from deforming under heavy load pressure and severely reduces the risk of tread separation at highway speeds. Externally, the symmetric tread and solid shoulder ribs distribute pressure evenly across the contact patch, keeping the trailer tracking straight rather than wandering behind the tow vehicle. Additionally, a heat-resistant compound and wide circumferential grooves work together to channel air through the tread and shed heat on long runs. The compound also stays flexible through cold storage instead of hardening off over winter.

If you are choosing between this and a standard ST radial, the decision is about load. Weigh or estimate your trailer fully loaded, not empty, and pick a load range with headroom above that number. Under-specifying the load range is the single most common cause of trailer tire failure, followed immediately by running underinflated.

Three habits will get you the full life of the set. Inflate to the maximum pressure molded on the sidewall before you load, always checked cold. Inspect the sidewalls for cracking at the start of each season. And replace on age rather than tread depth, because a trailer that sits between trips is aging its tires the entire time it is parked.

Best-suited for: Travel trailers, fifth wheels, car haulers, equipment trailers, and enclosed cargo trailers.

Tire Best Features:

• Steel-belted structure with a full nylon overlay ensures high-speed durability and resists heat-induced tread separation.

• Symmetric tread and solid shoulder ribs distribute load evenly for stable, straight tracking.

• Heat-resistant all-season compound withstands sustained highway towing and stays flexible during winter storage.

• Circumferential grooves aid in both water evacuation and rapid heat dissipation.

• Second-generation construction specifically engineered for higher load range applications.
