Federal Formoza FD2 215/60R16 95V BSW Tires
The Federal Formoza FD2 tire is the next generation touring tire for economy sedans and luxury CUVs. It has all the best features of the Formoza FD1 tire with D.P.E.T. D.P.E.T. stands for Disorder Pitch Evolution Theory, which is Federal Tire's most recent technology to reduce road noise. It works by reducing the harmonics and noise created by the rotating tire so it runs as quietly as many much more expensive brands of touring tires. The tire is also extemely comfortable, with a smooth ride thanks to the new 3-in-1 groove design. This featue reduces road vibrations and improves tread-life. This tire has premium tire technology at a fraction of the price.

|Size||Load Index/ Speed index||UTQG||Ply Rating||Overall Diameter||Section Width||Rim Width Min||Rim Width Max||Rim Width Meas||Tread Depth (in)||Max Single Air Pressure (PSI)||Max Single Load (lbs)||Max Dual Air Pressure (PSI)||Max Dual Load (lbs)||MFG #|
This describes the sidewall appearance. Examples include Black Sidewall, White Sidewall, and White Letters.
The load index (LI) is a 2 or 3 digit number that corrolates to the maximum amount of weight the tire can carry. For example, a tire with a load index of 87 indicates that the tire can carry a maximim load of 1,201 lbs. In the case of our example the 87 identifies the tires ability to carry a maximum of 1,201 lbs. So 4 tires will carry a maximum of 4,804 lbs. Refer to your vehicle owner's manual for the recommended minimim Load Index. It is not recommended to install tires with a lower Load Index. By doing so, this could cause your tires to be overloaded thus potentially causing a blowout.
Speed Ratings (SR) are based on laboratory tests and indicates the maximum speed the tire can achieve. These tests are based on limited time trials. Higher speed rating tires typically will yield better handling capabilities, but may often result in lower mileage. Refer to your vehicle owner's manual for the recommended minimum Speed Rating. It is not recommended to install a tire with a lower speed rating as it could affect the handling of your vehicle. It is important to note that speed ratings only apply to tires that have not been damaged, altered, under-inflated or overloaded. Additionally, most tire manufacturers maintain that a tire that has been cut or punctured no longer retains the tire manufacturer's original speed rating, even after being repaired because the tire manufacturer can't control the quality of the repair.
|Ply Rating||Not Available||
Ply Rating is related to the max load capacity. This value can be defined with a letter or number. The higher the number/letter, the higher the load capacity.
To help consumers evaluate their tires, the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) created the Uniform Tire Quality Grading System (UTQG). The UTQG rates tires are rated on their tread-wear, traction performance, and temperature resistance. The grade for each of these can be found on the sidewall of your tire (except for winter tires and certain light truck tires). Click here for more information.
|Max Single Load(lbs)||1521||The maximum load this tire will support. Remember to multiply this number by the number of tires installed on your vehicle to get the maximum carrying capacity. This number is directly related to the Load Index.|
|Max Single Air Pressure(PSI)||44||The maximum air pressure this tire will support. This does not represent the amount of air pressure your tires should have at all times. Consult with your owner's manual to determine the best air pressure you should use for your vehicle.|
|Tread Depth||11.0||The amount of tread on the tire. Once the tire is worn to 2/32nds, it is considered fully used and should be replaced at that time. Most tires will have tire indicators in the grooves of the tire to help you determine when the tires are worn down to 2/32nds.|
Nondirectional - most common, same tread pattern on inside & outside of the tire. Can be rotated to all four corners of vehicle. Asymmetrical - tread pattern is different on the inside to the outside of the tire, and must be mounted properly. Can be rotated to all four corners of the vehicle. Directional tires - roll in only one direction, must be mounted properly. Once mounted they must remain on the same side of the vehicle, and only be rotated front to rear.
|Rim Width Range||6.0-7.5||The approved wheel rim width range this tire will support.|
|Measured Rim Width||6.5||The recommended wheel width as recommended by the tire manufacturer to get the best wear us performance for this tire.|
|Section Width||8.7||The measurement from sidewall to sidewall.|
|Tread Width||6.9||The measurement from one side of the tread to the other side of the tread.|
|Overall Diameter||26.1||The height of the tire when fully inflated.|
|Manufacturer Part Number||29AH6A||Manufacturer part number (sku)|

Another great tire from Federal
After being very pleased with a set of Federal SS 595 on my Midget track car, I decided to try a set of these on my slightly more demanding BMW 535i. The result? Good grip, very quiet, and predictable handling.
These tires are great!!
Quiet and smooth ride at a great price
Great tires for a low low price
The only tires other than very expensive Good Year Assurances that fit my Scion iQ. I'm very happy with them.
These tires are great
Ordered 4 tires and received them right away. Had them installed and I'm very satisfied and happy with the tires and the price too.
Better than expected, everything I had hoped for.
These are the quietest tires I have ever installed on a passenger vehicle. Add to the fact that I put them on a Camry Hybrid and you're in a whole other world. And im not being facetious. The care literally felt like and sounded like it was gliding after we installed them.
We put these on our 09 caravan and are happy so far. They've been good in the rain, grips under tight cornering and at quiet on the highway.
They are real good tires
I am very happy with my choice in tires will like to get two more tires soon. As long as the tires are a good price.
Bought these tires and all I can say is wow! Super quiet. I’ve been in the automotive industry for over 30 years and these tires are superb in a sedan. I have them on a Mercedes and the ride is awesome!
Smooth ride, no road noise
Very smooth and quiet. I have had the chance to drive on dry, wet, snow covered and icy roads. These tires perform extremely well. Much less road noise than my old Michelins and Perellis.
Federal tires status update
Great tires guys.....

Awesome ride. 2016 Audi A6 3.0T. These tires perform extremely well in all conditions. Very quiet too.
My Second Set after a brief hiatus...
For the basis of comparison, my past tires have been Michelin, Pirelli, and Yokohama. The Formoza FD2 is a surprisingly good tire on my vehicle. Easily outperfomed the Yoko in handling (wet and dry) and as good as the Michelin in quietness. Bested all in wear and handling when worn. the vehicle, a 2009 Audi A8L Quattro, can stress a tire and requires a tire of high load range. The Federals are on the list for repurchase.

So Far So Good!! Great Tires For The Price!!
I have searched for good tires for a good price and was happy that I found the Federal Formoza F2 for my 2008 Jaguar XJ8. IMHO they hit in all areas. Noise is very low, Dry & Wet performance are excellent.
love them 2nd time owning a set .. i love them i don’t have much else to say .. best all season tires for your buck
We love the quick service an quality of the tires
Outstanding quiet tire with equal performance, exelent grip, have not tested it in snow jet, love it!
Awesome is the only word!
These tire live up to all that they said they were, I noticed the quiet ride right off the bat,
I'd compare to our past silence run tires.
We took our car to a National tire shop to have the tires replaced, however they wanted $250.00 per tire. Finding the same style tire without the name brand price here on tires-easy.com we only spent a third of the price. These Federal Formosa tires ride good and really have helped with road noise inside our Lexus RX350.
Smooth as glass
These are the best tires yet on my Saturn Vue Redline I'm so impressed I will look at Federal for my truck tires
Great for the Price
Put these on a 2015 Chevy Equinox, they are great tires for an awesome price on tires-easy!! Very quiet, great traction, and not chipping out from the gravel roads.
Great tires, great price
Brought these tires 2 1/2 months ago and not much wear & tear o them. Hold up well being we have some of the worst streets in America!!!! New Orleans. I’m glad I did some research on them and they will be the preferred tires on my crossover!
Tires are great! Reduced the outside road noise & grip to the ground n
Perfect tires. Work wonders in rainy conditions & make handling much smoother.
Good value, great performance.
I had heard Federal was a pretty good bang-for-the-buck. Wasn’t so sure that they would be what I was looking for, but after deciding to give them a shot, I was pleasantly surprised. They ride great, have ample grip (check out my autocross pics on Instagram, country_boy0786), and were a pretty great price. Can’t say how they hold up for a long period of time, since I’ve only had them for about 3k miles. But, if they last a few years and continue to perform as they have, I’ll definitely come back for more.
